The Art Deco style incorporates all those extra little touches to remind you that this is no ordinary vacation; from the character-themed bath products to the porthole-shaped mirrors, your cabin is designed to make you smile. Some staterooms even come with walkie talkies to communicate with your cabin-mates around the ship. Concierge-level accommodations have to be seen to be believed. While all major cruise lines strive to bring Broadway to sea, only on Disney ships can you find spectacular musical productions of favorite films such as Aladdin, Tangled and Toy Story. For a wider array of classic tunes, check out the original musical Disney’s Believe, or the Golden Mickeys – a stage-show extravaganza featuring countless familiar tunes and special guests. Every ship features a water playground to “animate” your young ones with water slides, plus a tempting selection of buttons, levers and wheels to trigger all manner of spraying and splashing. Pirate Night is always a big hit; where else can you join Captain Jack Sparrow’s crew, or bust out some moves at an all-ages dance party with Captain Hook? For some grown-up time to unwind away from the kids, there are plenty of sophisticated options, including pubs, nightclubs and lounges. Kick back together on the pool deck to watch Disney movies under the stars. Special themed events are planned throughout the year, with Disney-esque Christmas and Halloween celebrations. You can even release your inner jedi during Star Wars Day at Sea.
On each vessel you will find a world-class spa and salon offering a variety of rejuvenation services in a serene, tranquil setting. If you want to take it up a notch and pamper yourself Disney-style, try one of the Senses Suites, a Mediterranean-inspired beauty and relaxation room complete with its own private open-air balcony. Chill Spa, designed for teens, offers novel treatment options geared specifically towards this age group, such as a hot-chocolate skin wrap, and mother/daughter or father/son massage packages. You can even take your own little princess for a bibbidi-bobbidi makeover. Every Disney ship features a state-of-the-art gym replete cardiovascular equipment, weight machines and all kinds of classes and seminars. Some vessels even include a mile-long walking/jogging circuit around the deck!
These ships are family-friendly on steroids. For the little ones, every vessel has a nursery where babies and toddlers are looked after by qualified caregivers in a safe, engaging environment complete with a designated room for napping. Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab provide a plethora of pursuits for passengers aged 3-12 years with characters galore. The Club offers storytelling, dress-up, interactive games, storybook-making and a playground, while the Lab has a special focus on education through exploration with animation lessons, crafts, science experiments, Ratatouille cooking school and so much more. Tweens will enjoy Edge, a program specially catered to their age group, featuring high-tech entertainment, age-appropriate games and organized activities, including karaoke, dance parties, pizza concoctions, plus the creation and eventual performance of their own comedy show. Vibe is a hangout area for teens to socialize in a discreetly-chaperoned setting. They can participate in organized activities, chill out in the media center, or even try their hand at DJ track-mixing. Unlike the younger groups, Vibe participants get to have a say in what scheduled activities will be offered; they are given choices at the start of the cruise, and their schedule is tailored to include the most popular selections.
Disney Cruise Line makes magical trips to the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, Mexico, the California and Canadian coasts, and even through the Panama Canal. Passengers aboard their Caribbean trips have the added bonus of a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s very own private island. Castaway Cay features a tranquil lagoon perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and they offer all kinds of activities including tram rides, barge rides, parasailing, kayaking, waterskiing, speedboat rides, fishing, storytelling and even a special adventure package designed especially for teens! The cruise line also has its own special buses to take passengers to and from the ship, nearby airport and/or Disney hotels.
